Overview
Family and Children's Prevention and Post
Institutional Program (PPIP) assists youth who are returning to their
home
communities with transitional service after residential placement, foster care,
or incarceration. PPIP also helps youth at risk of involvement with the juvenile
justice system to avoid the negative social behaviors that could
lead them to
further involvement with the court system.
Type of Youth Serviced

Any youth who has experienced difficulties in his or her social development
-
Any youth who is presently having difficulties with peer groups or family
members
- Any youth who has been involved with the juvenile justice system,
or is facing a PINS (Person In Need of
Supervision) petition
- Case
management to youths and their families
- Individual, family, parent and
group/peer counseling to ensure a comprehensive plan for each youth
- Youths
who are involved in the PPIP component are seen at our Hempstead site, at their
homes, and in the schools
