Court Team Coordinator – Babies Can't Wait – Westbury

Work directly with the judge to assure the full implementation of the Babies Can’t Wait Project Model in the dedicated courtroom for all children and their parents (Bio/Foster/Resources). Coordinate bringing developmentally and trauma informed child development expertise to the judge and the core family court stakeholder team by helping coordinate trainings and or provide training for the core family court team stakeholders. Insure that court team data is up to date and accurate. Lead /facilitate core team case review meetings at Family Court that include attorneys for the parents, children, county, foster care caseworkers and supervisors the infant mental health team clinicians and the statewide court improvement officer, review all open cases, convene and run the monthly case review meetings for each family according to the national Safe Babies Court Team Model.Track the referrals made, services received progress towards goals and barriers encountered; monitor progress and help prevent very young children from falling through the cracks. Be present in the courtroom during hearings, organizes the flow of cases in and out of the court room; keeps track of the judge’s decisions; and takes notes and minutes of the findings and discussions.Assess the effectiveness and quality of services provided to the families; educate the community providers about the goals of the program. Help the core family court team learn more about the service providers and what services are currently available in the community and Organize training for the Team members.Work collaboratively with DSS to recruit, screen and train potential foster/adoptive families.Develop relationships with community agencies in the understanding of the BCW program.Bring the importance of developmentally informed and trauma focused information and training to the forefront particularly for maltreated 0-5 year olds in the Nassau County Child Welfare System

Manage the daily operations of the chemical dependency, prevention and vocational education services to ensure compliance. Prepare and manage annual program budgets and monitor the trends in revenues and expenses. Complete all required paperwork from Agency, funder and any other regulatory agency and ensure it is submitted by the required deadline. Provide direct treatment services including intake assessments, individual and group counseling.Conduct regular review of the program to ensure it is in compliance with all regulatory requirements.Maintain current knowledge and understanding of all agency policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and basic wage and hour law regulations and manage and supervise staff in accordance with them.
